Dental emergencies - what would you do over Christmas?

Toothaches don't only happen on normal weekdays so what would you do if you have a toothache or other dental emergency during the Christmas break?

With almost all dentists being closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day a toothache or other dental emergency can be quite distressing but there's no need to worry.  Many NHS hospitals operate an emergency dental service and a call to NHS Direct can help identify where the local service is provided.  The phone number for NHS Direct is 0845 46 47.

The NHS Direct website also provides a guide to dental emergencies.  You can access the site via the following link:

https://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/CheckSymptoms/SATs/DentalProblems.aspx

In the Croydon area, the emergency dental service is provided by CroyDent who are located in the Edridge Road Walk in Centre.  Emergency dentists are available every evening and, on bank holidays, from mid-afternoon; however, CroyDent is not a walk in service and you will need to call 0845 000 4567 to book an appointment prior to attending.

At AllClear, we always try to fit in emergency patients if at all possible.  We will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day but will be open on weekdays and Saturdays otherwise.  For further details, please call in, phone 020 8688 3869 or see our website.
