Dental Hygienists - your partner for healthy teeth and gums

Did you know that hygienists don't only clean teeth?  Regular visits to the dental hygienist will not only give you sparkling teeth but will also work with you to develop a cleaning regime to help keep your teeth and gums healthy.

Hygienists are specially qualified dental care professionals whose area of expertise is in the deep cleaning of teeth and gums.  If you experience unpleasant odours or taste in your mouth or your gums bleed when you brush your teeth, you could be suffering from periodontitis or gum disease.  You should see your dentist as soon as possible and they will often prescribe a series of treatment by a hygienist who will thoroughly clean around and under your gums to stabilise the condition.

In the United Kingdom, hygienists can only work under the direction of a dentist.  This means that you will need to see a dentist first so that they can instruct the hygienist on the specific areas where treatment is needed.

Apart from treating you, your hygienist will also give instruction on oral hygiene - in other words, advise you on how to thoroughly clean your teeth and the most suitable oral hygiene items (e.g. brush type, floss, interdental brushes etc.) for you.

At AllClear, our team of hygienists will be happy to see and treat you.  If you're not a regular customer of AllClear, then all we need is a letter or e-mail from your normal dentist instructing our hygienist to treat you.  For further details, please see our website, phone (020 8688 3869) or call in.
