National Smile Month 2013

This year's smile month highlights a three point plan to keep your teeth, mouth and gums healthy.

National Smile Month is the UK’s largest oral health campaign and runs from 20 May until 20 June. At the heart of it are three key messages that can go a long way to improving oral health. They are:
  • Brush your teeth for two minutes twice a day using a fluoride toothpaste.
  • Cut down on how often you have sugary foods and drinks.
  • Visit the dentist regularly, as often as they recommend
Although these sound simple, there’s evidence to suggest not everyone keeps to these three most basic of messages. National Smile Month is a great opportunity for those who don’t to take stock of their oral health habits, and a great opportunity for those who do to pass the message onto others.

National Smile Month is organised by the British Dental Health Foundation and sponsored by many of the major dental manufacturers and suppliers. As part of the campaign, there is an excellent website - http://www.nationalsmilemonth.org -  which contains more details about the campaign, advice on what you can do to improve your oral health and activities for children.

At AllClear, we believe that prevention is better than cure and wholeheartedy support the message of the National Smile Campaign.  To find out more or to book an appointment, call in, phone 020 8688 3869or see our website.
